i guess i'll sort of start at the beginning and introduce my family, briefly. everything else should fall into place from here on out. (i'm wishing myself good-luck in keeping this up) ANYWAY, bubba (my hero) and i have been married for 11 1/2 years, we spent the better part of that wishing for kids. we learned to enjoy what we were given and (wow! i miss those days occasionally) lived life spontaneously. now that we have our kids, we wouldn't trade all those years of tears, medical interference, trying (practice makes perfect) and frustration for them to come when and how they did, it's never in our time frame.

our "gift" jesse, joined our family mid-2003. he is our energizer bunny - all over the place (attention span of 4 seconds), always asking questions (the master at stumping us), telling us how it is (yes, at 4 he knows everything) and giving the best hugs and kisses (will miss that when he decides he's above "loves").

our "miracle" malcolm, joined our family early 2006. he is his daddy's mini-me for sure - determined, oppositional (pure naughty), sneaky and thinks he's at least the same age (should be able to do the same stuff) as his older brother. he gained a new nickname over the holidays from his uncle - he is now referred to as "stitch" as in the movie Lilo and Stitch (now you get the picture).
finally, our "blessing" (and caboose) joined us this past fall 2007 - sweet baby girl lillie. so far she's our most content and self-entertained, although she started off being our most problem child with jaundice, colick and bowel issues. i get excited by the changes in her personality and abilities every day - somehow i forgot the stages (those memory cells) we went through with even malcolm (18 short months ago), so it feels all new.
my entire family is so important to me, i want family to be important to my kids also. isn't it true that in the end, all you really have is your family, those who love you unconditionally. i am grateful for the family i was raised in, even the family bubba was raised in - we are who we are because of our experiences thus far. that's it in a nutshell, family.

Great blog. Now maybe I can keep up with your family more :)
malcolm had the weirdest hair as a baby. just an observation.
Don't you remember how absolutely straight his hair was - he looked more middle eastern than black. Then at about 7 months new curly grew in as the straight fell out.
