What Happens in Las Vegas . . .

Conference weekend was very enjoyable, even in Sin City! Actually we were in North Las Vegas and didn't even make it to the Strip - as I had planned, to take the kids to see the sights. Dave had to make a quick trip (flew) back to Salt Lake to attend a funeral and was gone for a day and a half. The weather was hot, hot, hot - kids begged to go to the park, but I am gearing up for winter and couldn't stand the 90+ heat! I did however take them Saturday evening, while the guys were at Priesthood meeting, the weather was perfect then.
We enjoyed seeing my brother and his family - Lillie wanted her cousin to give her loves back, he was a little unsure what she was trying to do!



Probably the best highlight of the weekend was Lillie, trying as only she could, to learn how to climb and descend the stairs in my parents house. This is pretty much the only place she has been that has stairs - remember, we live in that really small apartment, which is on the ground level. She was a pro at climbing - she would get to the first landing, turn around to look at us and wave with glee at the new found freedom - hilarious! Then once at the top of the stairs she'd grab onto the balusters and descend, stepping, step by step.







As precarious as it felt to watch her, she never fell once, this trip. I know she will fall on one of our visits, it's a given, kids have to fall down the stairs at least once - to learn respect for the stairs and gravity! Amen to that!
So, all in all, we had a very nice visit with the folks in Vegas and look forward to our next visit, spending New Year's with family.
