One of My Favorite Things . . .

I am not even going to apologize, to the three of you who read my blog, for the lack of blogging this summer. Get over it. I am. Maybe when I get a break, big joke, I'll catch-up. All I can do from here is be consistent. I'll try it out.

I love August. I love that summer is coming to an end. I love that school starts. I love that football buzz is brewing. I love the feeling of change. Most of all I love that my most favorite 17-month calendar shows up at Sam's Club!

I love, love, love this calendar. Even though it's a 17-month calendar, I buy one every 12 months. Every August for the past four years. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't have a fancy-shmancy device to put all my appointments into. I tried that at one-time, pre-iPod touch, Blackberry, etc., we had the Dell PDA . . . I don't recall it's name. Anywho, I generally do best when things are written.

I love that this calendar fits our family perfectly. Five columns for the five people in our family. (no Dave, we can't adopt. no room on the calendar.) I love that the Mom column is first. Mom runs the family. This is the way it should be. Then a column for Dad, Jesse, Malcolm & Lillie. See, perfect!

I love Sandra Boynton. We have a plethora of her books. We have the songbooks with cds. Love, love, love her. Love her humor in the calendar, both illustrated and written. For example, in the back there is "a drop-down storage pocket" for "coupons, notes, stray $100 bills". I promise, someday when I have a stray $100 bill, that's where I am storing it. I love this calendar.

Looking forward to integrating this newest calendar into our life . . . writing down the stuff I currently know about and using some of those "500 nifty stickers". Oh, and updating the "Mom's Family Phone List", so handy!

i didn't realize you had such a love for the calendar...you should keep it where we can all see it...instead of in the dark, cold pantry. hahaha. can't wait to see it.
